Location: Yorkshire (covering all sites, with some travel to Lancashire)
Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £27,500
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Active Pathways is delighted to be recruiting for an aspiring and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Clinical Team, working regionally across Yorkshire 5-days per week.  

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs, including personality disorders, autism, and learning disabilities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care and supporting people to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will support the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions, working closely with our Qualified Psychologists and wider therapy teams to make a meaningful difference to service users’ recovery journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of psychological assessments under the supervision of a qualified psychologist
  • Support Qualified Psychologists and Occupational Therapists in delivering therapeutic interventions, both 1:1 and in group settings
  • Plan and facilitate structured, recovery-focused activities that promote independence and social inclusion
  • Help individuals apply therapeutic skills into their daily lives, supporting long-term outcomes
  • Contribute to care planning, risk management, and ongoing reviews of service users’ progress
  • Maintain accurate and professional clinical records and reports
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including attending meetings and sharing progress updates
  • Support positive behaviour approaches and promote person-centred, strengths-based care

About you:

  • A degree in Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society, with an interest within Mental Health services 
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health needs, learning disabilities, or autism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships
  • A good understanding of psychological models and recovery-focused care
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain accurate records
  • A compassionate, professional approach with a genuine commitment to improving lives
