Senior Mental Health Support Worker (Days)

Location: Fernside House, Armley, Leeds
Hours: 39.37 hours per week
Salary: £15.00 per hour + £16.50 overtime + £55 per sleep shift 
Shift Pattern: 7:30am - 8:00pm, two-week rolling rota

  • Week 1: Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun
  • Week 2: Wed, Thu, Fri

Active Pathways is delighted to be recruiting for a compassionate Senior Mental Health Support Worker to join our Supporting Living mental health service in Seacroft, Leeds.

Park Place in Leeds provides a warm, home-like enhanced supported living environment for adults working toward greater independence, often following hospital stay or due to complex care needs. Residents move into fully furnished apartments, complete with all essentials, so they can settle in quickly and feel at home. 

A dedicated team is available 24/7 to support residents with both daily practical needs and longer-term goals. Support is aimed at community reintegration, typically over 18 to 24 months, so that residents are able to transition to fully independent living when ready.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise Recovery Support Workers in assisting residents with daily living tasks to promote independence.
  • Provide personal care and ensure high-quality care delivery in line with evidence-based practices.
  • Act as a role model and take responsibility for the unit in the absence of management.
  • Mentor new staff and participate in ongoing staff development through supervision and training.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the well-being of service users is at the forefront of care.
  • Facilitate recovery-focused activities and support residents in achieving their personal goals.
  • Handle medication and maintain accurate care records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
  • A strong understanding of care plans and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to promoting recovery and social inclusion.
